ILJ-Michigan’s Co-Legal Director, Marcelo Betti, is leading our legal clinic on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 in partnership with Bethany Christian Services and Slavic Evangelical Church. Traverse City is home to hundreds of Ukrainian refugees, seeking asylum after the Russian invasion of their homeland.
The first way of refugees is now approaching the end of their temporary parole and now need to reapply to extend their stay. Nearly all of the Ukrainians who have been assisted by ILJ-Michigan have no path to citizenship and are expected to return to Ukraine when their parole concludes.
In the interim. ILJ-Michigan is working hard to help our new neighbors with support from volunteers, donors, translators, and friends.
